Why Meeting Mama?
When I was nearly eight months pregnant, my family moved to Austin for my husband’s new job. I knew very few people and found myself searching for something I had been lucky enough to experience after having my first child: a community of moms who were in the same season of life.
I started asking around, looking for a postpartum group where I could connect with other new moms. But I couldn’t find the kind of community I was looking for—one where I could build genuine relationships, ask the questions I was too embarrassed to Google, learn from trusted professionals, and feel understood by women who were going through it, too.
I figured I couldn’t be the only mom looking for that.
That realization became Meeting Mama.
Because becoming a mother isn't just about bringing a baby into the world. You have birthed a child, but you have also stepped into a new version of yourself. Your body changes. Your relationships change. Your identity changes. Your priorities change. And while everyone is focused on nurturing the baby, the mother needs nurturing, too.
Motherhood was never meant to be done alone.
A community for new moms to feel supported, connected, and confident through the transition into motherhood.
We believe moms need nurturing, too.

Hi, I'm Lauren.
Mother, educator, health coach, and founder of Meeting Mama.
I’ve spent my career working at the intersection of health, education, communication, and now motherhood.
With a background in healthcare communications and public relations, I first developed a passion for health and wellness through my work in the corporate world. After experiencing burnout, I made a career shift and earned my Master’s in Teaching in Early Education. I spent five years as an educator before becoming a mom myself.
Motherhood brought a new perspective to everything I had learned about supporting others. I became a Master Certified Health Coach and began bringing together my experience in healthcare, education, communication, and my own experience as a mother to create the kind of support I wished more moms had access to.
That vision became Meeting Mama.

Why I do this.
I’ve seen firsthand how powerful it can be when moms have a space to ask questions, share the hard parts, learn from trusted professionals, and realize they aren’t alone.
My role is to create that space—to bring the right resources and people together and help moms find their people.
Because sometimes what a new mom needs most isn't another piece of advice.
It's someone saying, “Me too.”
